Well im a guy that likes to experiment with stuff. My friend has a alum welder and said he can make anything i want for cheap.
I want a b-pipe in my fx-1 but cant afford it right now. Plus i have a kart tank and can prob go bigger. I want killer bottom end.

Anyone make there own pipes that are comparable to b-pipe power?
With the 61x rpm range is a short fatter pipe or a longer thinner pipe better for snap?

Just buy a cheap snowmobile pipe and cut it to fit that way you have money left over to buy a B pipe when it sucks.

I'm not saying it is rocket science and I don't proclaim to be a pipe builder, but there is more to making "the heart of a two stroke" than just bending and welding some aluminum or steel sheet together and calling it a pipe. Many more factors come into play in the engine/pipe design than meets the eye.

Literally tens of thousands are spent on a single model into R&D on expansion chambers, worse than that, chambers in a boat are largely(and sadly) shaped in a way be able to FIT in the available space and not necessarily the ideal shape.

Anyone can make a pipe and I don't want to discourage you from doing so, but please apply some science to expanding gasses, pulsewave and volumes before you start welding sh it together. Otherwise you will be wasting yours and your buddy's time and end up dissapointed.

my worthless two pennies.

More power does nothing for an FX1 unless the pump is replaced.

Already did the pump.

I know there are alot of factors into making a pipe. So does my friend. He is a jet and plane engineer and build pro Dirt bikes and race 4 wheelers. He knows all about custom pipes, engines, 2 stroke stuff. He has a banshee with custom made drag pipes for it.

I'm not worried about wasting our time, just getn some idea's. If it doesn't work we will use it for a beer funnel. lol

Just go online and download some 2 stroke pipe building software, it helps design your chamber based on your specs (porting, bore, stroke, etc.) that may at least get you going in the right direction.

Yea do as Brian and Nube said.

There are many factors to determine what shape/length/size/back pressure/wavelength/ect ect.
There are programs out there but Im not sure you will find a good quality one online for free. My buddy has a good program but he moved to New Zeland.

Just buy a B pipe, Ive bought enough stuff from you that would pay for it.

Oh yea what about that blaster seat??
