Mag Pump Or GP1200 pump

Hi Everyone

I am looking to up grade my sj pump, now i have been looking around and apparently i can put a GP1200 155 pump on the sj, with that i could also do a cats trim system. So what i wanna know is it worth going the gp1200 pump or just save up an get a skat trak mag pump?????
Any info would be great application is freestyle.

I'm not familiar w/ the 155 pump in a SJ, but you can source a 155 pump from other Yamaha apps also, like the XL700 - you could save some serious money going that route I bet.

I have one if your interested, everything but the drive shaft. It is a 155mm out of a blaster 2.... also, no prop...... .

unless you have a major power plant in that boat there is no reason for 155mm pump as you will not be able to drive it to get what you want out of it.

if you are looking for hook or a much better pump i'm a big fan of MAGNUM PUMPS.

SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy a MAGNUM! cats ( trim ) is cheap and easy to add. just seach these ads.

stay away from the big pumps.need a lot of power and suck the boat down assuming you have the beans.

Thanks for the advice, so i guess i will be going for the mag pump. Which mag pump is best suited for freestyle flat water and some surf riding i have 701cc with head and b pipe . guys running mag pumps is their a big difference over stock and what modes u are running with it.

don't spend the cash on a mag pump if you only have a almost stock motor. Unless you go with a big bore stroker you don't have to worry about a mag, there are other things that work just as well as a mag for a lot cheaper. skat 12/17 small hub and tbm pump cone would work great for your setup. don't worry about a skat 12/17 big hub(c-75 magnum prop) you don't have much motor it will load it to much.

Look for a mid 90's Waveraider reduction & steering nozzle if you want CATS trim on your 144mm pump.
