just picked up a 12 vein set back 140 for my roundnose.any idea on a prop. im running 61x ,62t with jetworks port job .is 700 dolars a good price i paid?it apears to mint with no cracks like a lot ive seen.

the 140mm is more of a race pump.......solas used the 140mm for their stainlesst pumps as well and it is reccoemded for racing but being a mag it will give you nice hook up everywhere. Keep in mind how you prop a 144 will be different than how you prop a 140mm pump.
700 used to be a good price, but around here everyone seems to be going with 144 and 148mm Skats so I'm not so sure if it was a deal or not.:27:
What kind of cracks have you seen? I haven't run into that on these pumps?

When I had one I thought 16/21 or 15/20 worked the best. I didn't experiment that much and then I sold the pump.

I have a 15-21 I'll sell you. I went and bought a 13-17 for my 140 magnum thinking I'll have this unreal out of the hole power because it was real good when I had this prop on, but I really didn't notice a difference. Nothing wrong with it and I have the nose cones and an impellor wrench.

same here.. i had a 13-19 in mine and went to a 12-17 and nuttin.. no difference.. but i wasn't useing a tach.. lake and surf is all my boat sees..

I'm really curious as to what type of cracks you have seen on the mag pumps. I have a few as do a few friends of mine and I am not aware of this. What part of the pump have you seen with cracks?

My mag pump was cracked and rewelded. The guy told me he bought it and didnt relize it had a crack and sent it to jetworks to get it fixed. Its sinced been painted and i havent really looked. he also told me hes seen some crack.:dunno:

Mines was cracked on the outside. nothing big i was told but did pay to get it fixed.
I met a guy that had a few pumps that were cracked and wanted the same price as i paid for mine.The cracks were small and on the outside of pump.He said it was common . Havent seen to many of these pumps. I picked this one up on ebay buy it now auction.
