Machine shop recommendations in the San Diego area?

Anyone have recommendations for cylinder work in the San Diego area?

I have a 95 Blaster with a shot cylinder (30 psi). I was going to take it apart and order new pistons but will need it honed. Is SBT core swap a better route?

SBT is nothing special and you won’t get your cylinder back. You’ll get a random cylinder bored 1.00 over.
Also with 30psi your going to need more than a hone and new pistons. You need to bore over size and new oversized pistons.
I have been sending my cylinders to Group K for 20 years. He is in Arizona and turnaround is about 2 weeks and he can supply pistons or you can provide your own. Last ones I sent were $120 to bore, hone to final clearance and chamfer ports. And you are guaranteed it will be perfect.

I believe Art from Jetworks is in the southern California area. Or if all you want is a bore, order your pistons in advance and take the pistons and cylinder to a machine shop.

If you take it to a local machine shop make sure they know what they are doing on 2-strokes especially for setting up the correct clearance and chamfering.

Thanks! Didn't want to pay for the cost of to/from shipping but I hear those guys are good.

Yes, I was going to get the pistons first unless the shop sells them so I can give them the additional business.

I have been sending my cylinders to Group K then he measures the bores and lets me know what size pistons to order then I just have them shipped to him. He does stock Wiseco if you want him to supply them but I prefer Pro-X.

There’s no reason to go larger than it takes to clean up the bores.
