make some water bypass fittings if you want

nose and tail bushings

steering set up would be pretty pimp. just trace the stocker and move the mounts an inch foward.

aluminum gas cap, trigger throttle and trim lever.

man if i had some machines i could dream up some pretty cool ish

If you are redoing the stock one, make it 1" shorter but also make the holes for the bars 2 position, one for xmetal style straight bars and one for standard style bars. (I think wamiltons makes one like this) also easy stuff to make would be billet fuel on/off switches and choke levers and billet hood hooks.

damn that looks like a fun job!!! Maybe I'll look into that... I was really good at my CAD Drafting class
I enjoy it alot

Drafting and machining are way different!!

CAD is 2d computer drawing, which you must understand. then you need to learn a 3d solid modeling program like pro-e or solid works inside and out. this is a very complex piece of software.

next you need to understand fit classes and material data and tooling data.

once you get the 3d solid model you must then wright a tool path for the part. and 99% of the time you half to then go back and model a fixture and tool path for that.

next is mastering a automotive milling machine.

TaDa... your idea is now in your hand:Banane01:

just to give you an idea how long it takes, i'v been working on that steam engine (shown above) all semester with a groups of 5 people. and we finished up 2 days ago....................:woot:

if someone could please shoot me some pictures of a stock steering plate. my plate is 200miles away..:banghead:

agreeed however 99% of all cad packages are 2d... i was just making a point that 2d and 3d modeling are totally different

not totally different, the 3d programs operate very similarly to the 2d programs in the way you create features it is just the extra commands you can use to manipulate the line drawings. I went to school for CAD but would be totally clueless if I ever had to do any kind of machining!!
