what kind of low end power do these two engines have? also, is it a 62t thats in the xl 700, and a 61x thats in the kawasaki sx 750?? i'm really confused.
The 61x and 62t engine codes are yamaha engines. Kawasaki lingo is either "big pin" or "small pin" for the 750's. I'm not a couch enthusiast so IDK who makes the XL700 (yamaha I assume). The kawasaki 750's aren't known for their low end power, they're mainly midrange-topend.
'92-'94 750sx had the small pin engines. (slightly better low-end power)
'95-'02 750sxi/sxi pro had big pin engines. (more power up top)
I'm no expert but AFAIK the electronics on all the 750's are interchangeable. The small pin models had a lower rev limiter and the SXI pro had a timing advance i do believe. I'm pretty sure this is correct but if I'm wrong then someone please chime in. Hope this helps --Josh
