looking for opinions of rickter and xscream hulls

anybody know length, width and weight of the dvx vs the fr2-evo? I think that's the latest and greatest rickter ski

If youre doing flat water the fr2-evo isn't the right ski. Fr is free ride. The only Rickter you would be considering is the ninja xfs.
The Dvx will be your lightest choice, with turf and paint they're are 55 lbs. The Rickter you're looking at probably close to 95 or more. The only 4 hulls in the ultra light weight category and easily available in America are Dvx, hurricane, superfreak and revolver. Also you can order any of them ready to ride, shows up to you fully built.

You would have to compare the DVX to the XFS Ninja to compare apples to apples. I don't have the specs on the Ninja but here is the spec sheet on the XFS. Ninja specs would differ.

You're comparing a Freeride ski to a flat water comp ski.......there is no comparison.

All good info you are getting here, just remember if you are riding the lake there is more than just going out and doing some twists and flips. Some hulls are awesome at freestyle but not so great at chasing boats.

so the general consensus im getting is the dvx would be better for flat water. but then again the area im at the most on the lake im on is anything but flat water. most people at the lake of the ozarks will tell you if your not in a 30' + boat stay off the main channel. but illl take any input i can get guys this wont be a cheap decision either way.

Every hull you are looking at is a top notch hull. I don't think you could make a bad decision. Good luck with your decision (always a hard one) and build. Sounds like it will be a monster!

Keep in mind that buying rickter is buying a name not a high quality products like Xscream is doing. Im NOT telling that rickter is a piece of poop, but the ratio resin/fabric in the Xscream hull is top of the line using the best resin and fabric on the market. That's not the case with rickter. The network distribution of Rickter allow distributor and dealer to make money because the price to built a hull with less quality fabric and resin is lower. That not the case with Xscream, im Xscream dealer and the money I can make on a hull is nothing even if I buy 10 hulls. There is a reason for that its because they use high quality products to built their hull, soo the cost price to built a hull is higher than a rickter. And dont compare the hull that the sponsored rickter rider ride, they are specially made for those rider and they dont built them with the same material as the "commercial" hull they sell to the general public. If your only option is between DVX and XFS go DVX.

Are you able to tell us if the bad thing about the Rickters are the weight or its own design?
I was told that a super light XFS would be very good. Do you agree with that?

The weight due to the fact they use cheaper fabric and resin than Xscream.

There might be more money to make on a Rickter (I have no idea, I'm not a distributor of either of the hulls we are discussing) but I don't think it's due to the quality of materials used. If what your saying is true, I would think it has more to do with the actual cost of manufacturing. Xscream hulls are made in the US and Rickters are made in Thailand and there is a big differences in wages, overhead, manufacturing process, etc.

I own a glass XFS and if I were in the market today, the Ninja, Circus, and DVX would be the skis I would be looking at. I'm not RRP biased, I just think there is a lot more to pricing than materials alone.

If you are seriously considering either of these hulls, I would contact RRP and XScream and talk to them directly.

Yeah wrong. I seen roks ski and it's not even close to the same. Way lighter layup, 55 lb hull, considerably lighter. Anyone who knew what they were looking at would notice. We even talked to Rick about it.

I have spent a bit of time on the xfs and owned the kdx
I would go with xscream hands down, not only have they taken a lot of wins but they will stand behind there product and always there if you have any ?'s and in my opinion is a better riding ski

Of course the wage of an employee is less expensive in Thailand than in the US, but its not the only thing. I talk about quality of the fabric and resin they used, and the ratio resin/fabric in a hull. There is a lot of quality of epoxy in the market some are very good and other are less good. When rickter hired Cobra to start the production(first factory) they were multiple problem in the production, and this was not only with rickter but with many brand of surf board and fiberglass stuff like that, the quality control was not really there, the way they cut the fabric was not controlled as well, some hull was heavier in the front some in the back. Its was one of the reason why rickter move from cobra to have their own factory. But most people dont know that they hire the manager of Cobra at the new factory and some of the problem came with in their own factory. Yes the quality of the finish is way better now, but they still have a problem with the fabric they used and the ratio resin/fabric. My mecanic owned a rickter from the 2nd factory and he broke a ride plate the first ride and we saw in that ride plate that the fabric at certain spot was still dry with no resin in it. This thing happen in the hull also. The process of infusion cant be 100% controlled by an employee with less experience who win 10$/h. Like I said before rickter is a huge business and the profitability is more important for them than the final products. Its not the case with Xscream, they use trinity resin who is the best resin in the market right now. Look at the inside finish of a DVX, its 100 time better than a rickter imo. Ratio resin/fabric is totally perfect. Like turbosauce said, no way the hull Rok rode is the same that you can buy, many people can attest that easily.

Let me be clear, im NOT telling that rickter is a junk hull, no way, im just telling that Xscream hull is way better. just my .02 cens

Test ride them both first. That may answer a few questions. For what your spending, arranging a test ride should be mandatory. I personally can't ride the xfs anywhere near as well as the KDX. I'm not biased towards anyone, but after riding almost all of them, I bought a KDX. Looking to build a DVX soon. Wanna good deal on a built KDX ?
