Todays haul , maters , the last of the cucumbers, banana peppers, jalapeno peppers lettuce and okra , BTW on tomatoes you pick them before they turn totally red, usually when they have just a tinge of red on them, they will always ripen in a few days regardless, you can pick the totally green , wrap them in paper, put them in a cool dark place and they will keep for a month with no refrigeration , you can pull the whole plants up at the end of the season , hang them by the roots upside down and the tomatoes will continue to ripen.

I did a batch last week but for now I am just blanching the Tomatoes and freezing them, I will make spaghetti sauce and salsa out of them later. I planted more cucumbers last week these have run their course.

We had a Covid garden and enjoyed it a lot. Our second season was a series of failures that made us quit. It is very rewarding to pick somethingyou have grown, especially for immediate consumption!

When I grew up we always had huge gardens so the learning curve wasn't as steep for me , mine is way smaller than what we had but it is way more manageable.
