loctite red vs blue

Depends on what parts.
I've found that when salt water is combined with never-seez, you've got a 50% chance of future removal! lol.

Seriously though, as much as we work on these things, I don't even use lock-tite anymore.

I believe red is permanant and blue is removable.

Read the package. Red is permanate, breaks free at 500 degrees I think. Blue it removable, breaks free at 200 degrees. Says exactly on the packaging.

I have been using blue on parts like my stator cover, which just need to resisit corosion and not vibrate loose. I have been using red on parts like my steering bolts, which are exposed to extremely high stress.

Locktite fills the voids water gets into. So using it will help prevents corosion, so I use blue on anything I work on often.
