If you put antisieze on that bolt and torque it to 70ft lbs it is going to get a lot tighter than if you do not put antisieze on it. By using antisieze you are increasing the chances of pulling the threads. Put blue loctite on it and call it good. Make sure to torque it as well. All you need is a rope in the cylinder.

Yup, did exactly that; rope in cylinder, a small bit of blue loctite and torqued to the RAD spec of 80 ft lbs (actually a tad bit more). Was not a difficult job.

Thanks all.

All you need is one of these. Way better than rope.

Thanks for that pic, that makes much more sense than rope. Had a bad experience with rope caught in the exhaust port a while ago.

As far as anti seize I use it on almost everything. Unless both parts I am putting together are new or in perfect shape.

A big thing with bolts is consistency from one bolt to another. Heads, case bolts, etc. Even when a used bolt is cleaned up you can still feel the bind up then free as you approach final torque. This is the wrong type of resistance and will change the bolt tension from bolt to bolt.

With anti seize you are reducing the static friction of the stop/starts in turning and bolt tension will be more uniform.

I use lock tite. My flywheel does not see salt water, it is sealed. I have to agree with Yamasaki, that bolt is too important. Even with locktite, I have never had a problem getting that bolt out, and would not risk it backing out.

How about that..? You asked a 2 answer question and got 8 different answers.!!

Its a kawi remember, they upgraded the bolt spec on all the later 750, sxi and sxr's. 72 is the absolute minimum I would go, and many of the sxr guy's are going into the 90-100 range so the thing wont back out. A new bolt is recomended when in doubt, and they do come with the red stuff on them from kawi, new bolts are about $11.
