hey,

What do u guys use to lock your standups down. Occassionaly i'll need to leave it in my backyard at the lakehouse, but id like to lock the SJ down to the trailer so if it got stolen, they cant walk away with it.

i tried to go to home depot and bought those cables but they dont fit thru the eyeholes in front or back ( was gonna strap it to trailer)

any suggestions... also have a lock for the hitch and was planning on throwing a chain on the trailer also.

there was a recent theft of someones atv so that had me worried.

Kryptonite locks fit through my holes. I have the front locked with a pin to the trailer, the trailer locked, and a concrete anchor in my garage which I use a kryptonite cable lock through the back of the ski. Yes I hate thieves.

My SJ has been sitting on a trailer in my driveway for a week now without a lock on it or the trailer. Now that I read this thread, it's destined to be gone when I get home.

Normally, it's in the garage, but this week has been super busy. :banghead:

yes i hate thieves also, and would rather be anal in locking everthing up, evne though it would take me a few minutes to unlock it..

now i bought the kryptonite locks but it doenst firt.. I bought the thick one but it barely not go thru ( the plastic housing blocks it)

there is a smaller thinner version but was worried they wouldnt be as strong enough

i got a bike lock and bored out the plastic eye hole in the rear for it to fit. if they really wanted it they could easily cut through the inch of fiberglass, but its stopping the opportunity thieves.

Get a padlock that will fit through where you want the cable to go through and then just run the cable through the lock and the lock through the eyelet or whatever. That's how I am going to do mine and then you can have multiple skis locked up at once and unlock them one at a time(I typically leave at least one at the ramp).

i locked a ski for a buddy at the lake Oops no key It took me less than a minute with a hack saw and channel locks to unlock it.In a world with cordless everything they can get it like it wasn't locked.
:skull2:THIEVES SUCK AND SHOULD HAVE THEIR HAND CUT OFF:skull2:

With that said they make a lock for street bike that has a loud alarm if touched.

Most thieves really are thieves of opportunity. I rarely lock my ski, and drive all over town w/ it in the back of my truck. The times I do worry, I just throw a lock around the pole bracket. I don't see many people taking the time to get that off.
