little help

ok, so everytime i let my ski sit, more than a week and i hit the start button the starter is spinning freely(at least it sounds that way).

then ill have to pull the tank, take the flywheel cover off and spin the bendix till it hits the starter. then put it all back on and itll be fine.

anyone know why this happens every so often?

Thanks Guys,
Justin

Is the spring in the flywheel cover? There is a small spring that goes in the flywheel cover and puts pressure on the end of the bendix.

If it is the bendix:
Soak that thing in automatic tranny fluid for a day. Then a dip in gear oil. I always put a little gear oil (90wt) in the flywheel housing/cover. keeps things from getting rusty.

do you guys put anything on your electronics inside the case (stator) to keep it from rusting if any moisture gets in there?
