SXR lightweight hull confusion/ questions

I am a SXR guy, but have owned FX1s, Octanes, Superjets, 750sx, X2, etc. All with Factory pipes, jetinetis flywheels, etc, etc. Like everyone else, I think the SXR is a pig, but love the way it rides. I never liked how the Superjet handled.

I understand the power to weight ratio thing. What I dont understand, is my FX1 had the superjet pump mod, pipe, etc and weighed about 265 lbs or so. I never really thought the seat of the pants, power to weight ratio was that great. Looking at the BOB site, with gen 2 hull and yamaha drive line, the ski is 272 lbs or so.

On the trinity site, the lowest priced sxr hull is 115 lbs. I think my stock sxr hull is about 150 lbs. That would make a Trinity, with stock parts, about 35 lbs less than a stock sxr ski. It would still be 360 lbs. Thats about what my Octanes were. The Octanes were a bit heavy too in my opinion.

Now, i would really like one of these aftermarket hulls if it made a big difference in seat of the pants thrill. By big, I would say the difference between a stock ski, and one with a factory pipe. Better yet, a pipe and a jetinetics. Is this realistic with a 115lbs aftermarket hull?

Not sure that my math or thinking is correct, so can I please get some feedback on this? Anyone near Gloucester, MA have a aftermarket hull? Thanks, Dan

I had a Bullet Racing Gen 1 SXR with a stock 750 big pin drivetrain. Stock pipe, ignition and carbs. it wheighed 326 with 2 gallons of fuel. I could walk away from my freinds 2010 stock SXR. Really noticed the drive in and out of the turns. Hope this helps

My empty Bullet Gen 1 hull with hood and mats weights 116# which they say is 70 or 80 pounds less than Stock Sxr. Hopen to have it done before wavedaze and I'll weight it complete and post it. John

For what it's worth, my Q8 hull made my 750 engine feel like it had the pipe added all over again...

Yes it has the carbon nose piece, It may of had the battery box and motor mounts and pump shoe in it.

Well you are gonna love it. I miss mine alot. I'm gonna guess that it is assembling very easy and the finish is one of the best you have seen? For the same price as other A/M hulls?

A stock sxr empty hull probably weighs closer to 200 lbs

I got the 150lbs number from one of the aftermarket hull maker sites. Blowsion, wamiltons, trinity. Not sure which, but they said stock was between 145 and 155lbs. Now if it really closer to 200lbs, i can understand that better. thanks for all the input buds. more input would be great!

Anyone want to compare the different SXR hulls for those not in the know? Fit, finish, etc sort of stuff... I'm particularly interested in the Trinity v. Bullet, but others would be great too.

(hope this isn't too open of a question/request. Not trying to start a war about which is better).

I have never seen a Bullet, but I can say I have never seen anything compare to the quality of Trinity.

For sure the Trinity is very nice and well built. My Bullett is Beautiful, Well built, Super Clean and priced reasonable for what work goes into them.
I have a Bullett Yam GP sitdown from back in the mid 90's and it still looks Great and the hull is like New. So I know Bullett hulls will last. John
