LOL.....for comparison, the stock RN hood without extinguisher is 18.5lbs.
My old WCF hood is 18.5lbs, too.

I believe Chris at ATP told me his carbon pre-preg is 6lbs.
I think the top-of-the-line XFT hood is about that weight, too.

Btw, my new WCF hoods are weighing in between 11.5 to 12.5 lbs. I also believe that cris (ATP) has told me his pre-preg carbon hood weights in at 9 lbs . He said anything lighter than that will not last very long!

I think they are between 8 and 9 pounds, I'll weigh one tomorrow I don't make them less than this because I would rather they weighed a pound more than cracked. Jumping on a hood when its flat on the floor means little IMO as BK says its the side impacts that tells.

exactly right,
my taiwan hood would split into straight away if u stood of it, it bends in your finger tips!!!!!!!!!!
