Super Jet Light Weight Couplers: How much difference?

I have done a back to back test with the Epic coupler compared to stock and I felt there was a small diffrence (similar to a lightened flywheel), but it coulve been all in my head knowing that they weighed so much less.I have seen broken stock couplers even on flat water skis (usually due to broken motor mounts) but have yet to see a set of falied Epic couplers. To be honest if your looking for a mod that will get you more power, the Epic couplers probly arnt gonna be your best bet for a stockish ski, but as stated above there are plenty of other good reasons to upgrade to billet couplers plus, they look awsome

IMHO, back to back test for differences so small are almost worthless. You know there's a component in there that you paid xx dollars for and it's supposed to do "this".
So you go ride it and convince yourself it does "this".
Was it real? Was it in your head?

Short of the infamous dyno-testing, the only reliable test would be a double blind test where the rider doesn't know what's installed in the boat before he rides it.

I'm not saying there isn't a difference. I'm just highly skeptical and I know I wouldn't trust my own seat of the pants feel if I know the components and what they are supposed to do.

PS: I've run a/m billet couplers for 5 years now and wouldn't consider anything else.

Agree 100% and the conditions would have to be exactly the same as far as temperature, humidity, wind, chop, etc etc. Every time I get the oil changed in the truck it 'feels' better, even though I am certain it's all in my head.

Haha me too. I swear my truck runs better after an oil change and wash. I switched to cf couplers after stock broke and left me stranded.
