My riding partner runs a 92 750sx. In the bottom of his hull today I noticed a sandy, oily, greasy, substance that was coating the bottom of the bilge.

Is the case drain plug leaking crap into the hull?

What is it and what fixes it?

I thank you all.

Sounds more like an exhaust leak to me...

However, if it is the case drain plug, you can buy a block off plate for it or you can just put JB weld in the holes. My engine actually has those holes welded shut.

Sounds like its just one of the symptoms of owning a Kawi they are known to do that.

If you are truly a good friend of this riding partner you would suggest he gets a superjet and put the Kawi out of its misery.

Is he still running the automatic oiling system? Most likely what you are seeing is oil that has spilled or leaked into the hull, and then mixed with water from riding.

The worst fear is that one of the crank seals is leaking. You can somewhat check this by running the motor and after shutting off, pull the crank drain handle and you should hear a "pfffft" sound of crankcase pressure being released. If there is pressure chances are the seals are good enough.

IMO, I'd just simple green the inside of the hull until it looks like new, then pay attention to where the yucky stuff is coming from. Most likely it's just vandalism from a jealous superjet owner.
