650/X-2 learning to ride x2

hi people , this may sound stupid but whats the best ride i.e netural pos, noze down1,noze down 2 or noze up1? to learn to ride with? also dose it just take time to get used to or am i doing something wrong? i can go in a line and do a slight turn but when it comes to a sharp turn it throws water streight into me causing me to not be able to see? whats wrong , or is this how they are? also im running a small car battery in there to just get used to it , would this cause it to pull to one side?

Yes get a real batteries. For learning try up one it will keep some of the spray down not good for full throttle runs though unless its glassy.. your just going to have to get used to the spray.. lots of weight on your inside foot crouch down and turn get rid of the stock bars that will lower the center of gravity.. start off doing slow turns..

They all spray water like that. You need more practice. You should be able to ride any trim of the nozzle and which is best depends on your style and preference. I would start in neutral and work from there. The spray is normal. Try getting your weight back. Try learning your corners sitting down 1st with feet in front like a go kart, then work to standing. Get the right battery. Preferably a sealed battery over an open cell lead acid. Little more money but much safer and better performance.

When i learned I rode it on my knees because sitting just feels awkward cause of the short seat.

They make high seats. About 6-8" taller than the stocker. I have one. Not too bad to sit on. The stocker is weird to sit on I agree. I would ride on my knees too. Kind of fun to ride sitting down tho. Don't sit with your knees bent to your chest. Put your legs out straight so they push against the engine compartment and put your but as far back that you can still reach the bars. More like sitting in a gokart or on a cruiser motorcycle. Fun way to ride, but a little rough on the back if you ride hard like that.
