Lean Carb?

That's exactly how mine looked and turned out to be a leaky needle and seat, soon as I changed mine it ran spot on, might be worth a look?

i have been having problems with my ski running bad. it would hardly get going, i would have to feather the throttle and baby it along to get up to planing speed then it would run fine. let off the throttle, and the same thing. out of the water it was missing real bad almost backfiring. i thought i had an electrical/timing issue but skidaddy said to clean the carbs out that it sounded like a lean hesitation/backfire. pulled the carbs apart last night and there was a crap load of rust settled down by the low speed jet. the metal screw and bracket that hold that plastic tab in place was all rusted up. cleaned all that out and it seems to have fixed it. havent water tested it yet but it think it's healthy again.

Upon first look, I would guess your problem has something to do with the spark plugs being installed wrong. :fingersx:

I would check the fuel delivery route and head orings.

I have been having the same issues, this week I will be pulling the carbs off for a good going through..... I want to invest in abrand new coil as well.... my wires are pretty shot.

We'll get em next time Saki!

Looks like your not getting spark while under a load but the same thing happens with fuel delivery too. Could be crud in the low circut or your losing spark when the rpm's come up.

doesnt the water out of the pisser steam or pulsate or show signs of a blown o-ring. seems like i remember that happening to skidaddy and it would blow steam out. i may be remembering wrong. hope its an easy fix.

Found a similar thing when I finally put on my reading glasses, found small hairs under the clear one way flap on the metering block, and the other carb had a pin hole in it. After checking the filters, there was a small wad of felt/hairs stuck in there, blew em out with air and all good, ready for water test. Also replaced the needle/seats, they both showed a wear ring in the viton tip.
