Is it common for the trays to leak? I Opened my hood yesterday with the ski in the water and could hear water dripping inside the ski but could not see it. sounds like water is dripping through the top of my tray somewhere and leaking into the hull.
Leak in the tray?

I once had a mysterious leak in my SXIPro. My jet ski mechanic suggested I take the battery out before putting it in the water to visually check the shaft seal. With the battery out it didn't leak until I pushed the rear of the ski down so water entered the tray, then I could see water dribbling in.
Turned out the plastic bracket which holds the E Box in place was missing a small screw and bolt at the bottom. The screw head (countersunk philips head) is covered by the padding at the front of the tray so you normally can't see it. It must have vibrated loose. The screw and nut went missing but the countersunk washer was still there.
Put a dab of silicone underneath the washer, replaced screw and nut, leak fixed.

I had a leak on mine once too (same senario as yours) I found that the water box had rubbed a hole in the front left corner of the tray. I just put a layer of fiberglass on each side to fix it.
Had similar symptoms "sound of water dripping into water with hood off"....... With ski in water I used a light to examine the mid shaft coupler area, I could see a small water flow coming off the coupler, turns out the rubber was separating from the coupler where it's bonded, replaced coupler now it's ok
thanks guys, waiting for a bilge switch to get here so i can keep riding with the leak. will check for that issue next time i go out and ride.
