The great lakes get crazy, im on the shore of Superior and even 3-5 footers can be hard to ride cuz they all seem to come from different directions. Ya need tides to get an consistent swells. Be safe out there, the water is getting cold quick. I might be done on superior for the season.

These aren't sissy ocean waves either. No nice spacing, one IMMEDIATLY after another. It's a scary place out there...if you mess up you could easily be drownd by the next wave. And its 50 degree water temps.

Riding in the ocean is a dream to these waves.

precisely....

however, other days there is nice spacing and some structure to the waves....

I remember crossing lake mich on my folks 31' c&c sailboat when I was like 9-10....I remember a storm that was throwing waves well over the height of the cabin and consistently breaking over the bow......

and no land anywhere in sight....

scary sh*t

i have been just as scared riding lake mich a few times as ive been on the ocean...

people who havent lived there dont realize how violent and BIG the seas get...

yup- back in the day... I got stuck out on Lake Michigan on a 440 while my buddy was fetching the tow rope back at the marina. Something I'll never forget.

and when ya get facefulls of water nothing burns, just clean fresh water, and also that fact that ya pull your ski on the trailer and prop the hood when ya get home, thats it.

I can't stand fresh water... it messes w/ my contacts, while salt doesn't effect me at all... It's all what you are use to riding is... Fresh kills my sinus's really bad too and also burns when ya get it in your head...

But damn that looks like GREAT Riding! Yeah I would rather live in FL, but you know what, I'm just happy I don't live somewhere where only small lakes are around, so MN isn't that bad....
