Blowsion parts order arrived today (Thanks Scott at Blowsion!) and I started on the SXR.

Hood hooks on. Old mats and stock rails off. Tomorrow I'll clean it all up and start with the foothold install, also nicked the hull when drilling the rivets out so am going to need to glass those up as well. A few pics below....wish me luck cutting into my hull....:1zhelp:

Getting somewhere...

Foot holds in and Hood baffle as well.

Foot holds were easier than I thought, hood baffle was a b1tch, didn't fit very well at all. Thanks to all those posts on installing foot holds, huge help!

A few pics below including my high tech oven...

More to come soon.

Rail caps - what color??

Had originally intended to spray the rail caps white but looking over Performance 1's build again the green looks cool with the stock graphics so now thinking of spraying mine yellow with a thin, retro black stripe along the bottom edge. Any suggestions?

Making progress...

Footwells all glassed, nicks in the hull glassed and side rails off.
Grinding the ss screws out of the footwells was a bugger!

More to come soon...

Rail caps

Decided to paint the rail caps white with a yellow stripe...

Trying to decide what to glue the outside edges in with, any ideas?

Blaster taking forever to come back from paint, so I'm going to split the build out of this thread and start a new one when I get it back, will prob be easier to follow anyway...

Ok, first coat of paint on the rail caps and I don't like the white, way different from the rest of the hull, back to the drawing board.

Got the pump out and found I have a Solas 13/22 impeller, interesting because the guy I bought the ski from said it had a Skat. Anyway, nice impeller...any thoughts on the pitch for freeride?

Very happy, not one nick in the pump or on the impeller at all.

Also installed the pump shoe seals....making slow progress.

Looking good, paint the rail caps yellow to match your ski. If I had it to do over I would not have installed the caps at all. I would have turfed like DJKorn.

Agree, if I had to do it all over again i'd just turf over. But I've got them now and the mat kit so will put them in. Going to bite the bullet and get someone in the know to match the yellow and paint for me...

I'm 250 pounds ,c75 9/17 swirl works great 5 mil set back great freeride prop,it will hurt top end speed .

Progress!

Finally got the rail caps back from paint and installed. The install wasn't as bad as I thought, just used loads of adhesive/sealant and dry fitted 10 times.
Still not convinced about the yellow though, hopefully it grows on me.

Pump back in with new cone and ripper carbon ride plate, can't wait to see how it handles with the new plate.

Got the hood straps on and decided to install dual bilges as well.

Should have it turfed and ready to go by the weekend.

lookin sweet. I've got the blowsion rail caps too, they're starting to crak though. I think when they're toast I'll take them off and just turf over where the rail cap goes
