I usually do a lot of boat chasing and flatwater where I have a lot of time before a wave to get nice and locked in before I go for a big stab/inverted, so that's no problem. Wave season is coming up on the great Lakes, and I had my first experience of surf two days ago when crazy waves hit my local Lake. It was knee to waist high surf with deep troughs and short periods, so you had to move quick to find a wave and hit it, so it was kinda nasty surf but awesome.
I'm used to kicking in tight and then getting inverted, but it's kinda a PITA in the surf to keep on kicking in, but I need to get locked in..
I'm already going to widen my tray and make an adjustable foothold system, so I feel like krash style footholds may be a good idea. It looks like you're able to just slip your feet in and twist your foot, but still stay locked in.
Is that how it is? Do you guys have them snug at all so you have to kick in and then twist? Is it easy to get out of them if you need to when recovering from a trick? And do they hold you in fairly well? Don't wanna fall out while being inverted! Any insight is appreciated. They look awesome..
