Chic, I asked for the "Firefox" option as in the Clint Eastwood movie Firefox. Told Dr to leave the wiring exposed so I could connect it directly to the throttle and the trim. That way all I have to do is think it -and it happens.
Of course Kim wanted the GPS so she knows at all times where I am. LOL

Ok here is the x ray showing hardware. You can see the bone that was removed and filled in by the allograft using cadaver donated bone. Dr. said the wedge was 15 mm at one end! At time of surgery, lower leg bowed 9 degrees! The 'navigator' attached to my upper and lower leg showed when they got it straight and also measured a before operation loss of movement to the rear of 5 degrees. After surgery, due to straightening I lost an additional 2.5 degrees for a total of 7.5 .
At my Dr. appointment Friday (15 days after surgery) I was told that my recovery is excellent and that I had regained most if not all rear ward movement even though I am restricted by the immobilizer around my leg. Staples were removed Friday also. Dr Wong said that due to the other end of the bone breaking during surgery, I am unable to begin bending it for an additional 2 weeks. And no weight on it for 6 more. Then it's PT time!

I have a similar plate and staples in the inside of my right knee done in 1984 , and I can tell you do not over worked for the next 2 month and be aware of your surrounding like coffee table etc.. My knee hurt like hell every time I hit something hard good thing it last only a min or 2.
I have made the biggest mistake by skipping P/t and I do feel it often in my back and kneed not really painful just tired and tense.
Also the Tense muscle machine will help regain the muscle stench.
Well there is some great movies at Blockbuster enjoy.
get well.
Let's rip the water.
well you still can get in your tub and rip the water with your toy boat:Banane01:

Then I guess it's a good thing that I HAVE a Tense machine!! Got it when Dr Fiorini found my Lower 5 th vertebrae was broken over a year ago. It helped with the muscle pain in the lower back. Hope it will do as well on my lower leg/ knee.

Louie, did you also have the wedge removed to straighten the leg? If so, did they fill in with donated cadaver bone? I am curious how well / how quickly it heals. I know a simple break takes awhile to heal, but does it take longer due to the wedge of bone removed?

No he will not!
That's what I'm talkin about, some good X rays pics  You'll be back in the water in no time flat, it just sucks that you will be out during the summer :banghead:

................aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhh. Not the summer! Please say it ain't so! Just the spring months, p-l-e-a-s-e.
Honestly, when they say I can put it down on the ground - I want on the ski.
I may wait on riding the mx bike, but my PT needs to involve water!.

They didn't remove a wedge; they made the cut and then opened a wedge (and used the bone graft/plate to hold it open. You can remove a wedge (from the other side) to get the same angular correction. I think what he was talking about the wedge getting cut means you want to keep the bone intact on the pointed end of the wedge and use that as a hinge when you crank it open. Sounds like the "hinge" broke, which makes it a little less stable, but isn't an uncommon problem.

Hey Tim just a small plate 5cm long and 2 wide and they staple it to the side of the bone to plug the hole they drilled to pull back some other part in my knee that had shifted cant recall what part was it.
I had a plaster cast for 60 day and got an infection in 2 place in my legs so cast was redone on the 3th week, and re cut & stitched back after cleaning infection.
I only done 3 time a week for 3 week of PT and that wasn't enough and that was a big mistake. what helped me was that I ride my bike 3 time a day. was able to got back running in 6 month.
But I still need further surgery and keep putting it of since I have other issue that I have to deal with. But this could be an other tread:banghead: , and boy it is not pretty. right SFL?
So you Know what to do so do it GET BETTER.
In the mean time lets rip the water.
