So....I notice there's all sorts of threads today about people's bad luck. Jens' fire extinguisher empties into the hull, Waste did....whatever it is he did, Demon's skis got stolen...
I guess I'll add my story for the day. So I head to this area I'd never been before, since someone told me it's good. :bs2:
I finally get out of the 1/4 mile no-wake zone :Banane01: , and open up. Within 20 minutes, I got a piece of wood stuck in my pump from all this debris floating about.
So I head back into the dock (1/4 mile no wake zone! :cheer: )
Well, I figure I can stab that piece of wood out of the pump real quick while the ski is upside down. Turns out, my air intakes are faster than me. :banghead:
Yeah, ski sunk. At the ramp. :djsmilie:
Scratched up the new paint job, on the top teck. :woot: I guess I needed some scratches to break the ice.
So, get it on the trailer, get the water out of the engine. Got that taken care of, engine started, wood out, everything hunky-dory.
So, back out - 1/4 mile no wake zone. :Banane01:
15 minutes later, on one really good nosestab attempt, the engine dies immediately and will not start - heck, it won't even turn over.
So....I start swimming back to shore. Only a couple hundred yards, what the hell. :frown:
On shore, I realized there wasn't anything I could do, so back to the ramp. Now I was a ways up river, so I had to walk the freaking thing back, through sand-rock-sunk-trees-muck. Ick!
After walking about half a mile towing my ski with my life jacket, I finally get to the channel to get to the docks.
Yeah, 1/4 mile no-wake zone! :cheer:
Took a few minutes to swim through there.
Oh yeah, riding alone sucks.
I don't know what's going on yet - my bets are on a stuck bendix/flywheel concoction.
