Kicker footholds with stock elbow pads?

I need to put some kicker footholds in my superjet badly. I was thinking about pealing back the turff and rail caps, sticking in the kicker footholds, and putting the rail caps back on and doing a quick job on the turff. This winter I will re-do the ski with stitched interior, new graphics on the outside, new bumpers etc. Will this work?

I woould not suggest it, and IMO the stitched stuff hurts, it will rub your legs raw if not wearing a full wetsuit. Stick with turf, if cost is an issue do it in grey b-stock $25 per sheet.

i have the stock cape on mine with kickers and all is ok but i did returf the rest of the sides and tray. just rip out all of the old turf and put new in. peeling the old turf back and trying to reinstall wont work very

Hydroturf is the way to go. It's grappy and soft. I always get raw places form stitched.

If your gonna do something do it right esp on a job that big. Turfing isnt a rig up job. Take your time and do it right...take ya 2 days max

I would get rid of those stock caps in a heartbeat - they are very slippery and I can't tell you the number of times I cursed them as my elbows slipped off!! Turf the whole thing, and I'd recommend padding the rail tops under the turf too - makes a big difference.

Thanks for the input guys!
I'll take my time and turff the whole thing.
I like the tip about padding under the rails!

I've got diggers on my kawi now and they work fine, Blowsion told me kickers install a little smoother on a superjet. Should I look at wamiltons or 24/7 or should I just go for the kickers. I don't want something like the xft's because I like that I can get out fast when things go bad.
