Kenney Keeper Question

So, I just got myself some Kenney Keepers, seeing as to how I am attempting more serious maneuvers than subs and circles this year.
I had always thought they go on the rear motor mounts, but the instructions put them on the front mounts. I guess that makes sense - however, that really doesn't prevent the motor from moving backwards and destroying couplers and the midshaft, correct?
I mention this because I thought I've seen carnage posted on here multiple times that involved just such damage.
What's the deal?

if the motor moves to the rear of the ski the coupler is going to sandwich and take the brunt of the force.....HOPEFULLY not causing too much damage......

your thinking is logical though.....

you ride in pretty deep water mostly though, right?

Yeah, deep water. Mostly. :Banane01:
I don't feel like spending another 75 bucks on a set.
We'll see how far this takes me.

They are only for the front. The motor bedplate is shaped different front to back. I had my coupler binding and breaking a few times befor getting keepers. No coupler problems since and the keepers are all dinged up from the motor bumping into them.

.

Thanks! The info I was looking for.

Coupler problems are form the motor shifting forward and the coupler coming loose and then back together. Also, much less likely to land hard tail first, at least to smack the bottom unless you are in REAL shallow water...

Not if you are looking at Pancaker as a roll model...
