Keihin carb help needed

I want to get the most out of my motor & have no carb tuning experience. Yesterday, I took my carb apart and cleaned it out. Also, I broke the plastic screw that adjusts the throttle plate position. I replaced that with a 6mm stainless screw that I can easily adjust with a phillips head screwdriver.

There are two adjustment screws on the front side of the carb and they are labeled H and L. I am running a 40mm Keihin CDK II on a 750 Big Pin engine (stock). The screws have little burrs on them that limit how far you can turn the screw. Any suggestions on at least where to start? Here is a ghetto paint diagram of the screws and their settings.

750 - Low Speed – ¾ +/- 1/4
High Speed – 1 ¼ +/- 1/4

How do I go about attaining these settings? Sorry, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to carbs.

if you have the plastic caps on the adjusters, just take them off and use a flat head or cut the taps that limit the turning so they will clear.

better yet, find one for the Blue 42mm carbs, they work really well on that ski!
