kawi style gunwales

Who's done the kawi style gunwales on a SJ. I've come across several builds over the past year or so, but can't remember who's done it. I'd like to try it on a SN if I don't buy a RN first.
1. How difficult to reglass and make structurally sound?
2. Any tricks to laying glass such that I can make an edge on lateral of gunwale (like a RN) to wrap turf over?
3. Footholds already installed...gonna try to leave them alone.

cut out glass, foam the void, then shape to desired shape. glass over that and you are golden.

I have seen bad jobs crack at the transition and waterlog the hull.

doesnt seem worth it to me unless you are building a ski from hull up.

it's a mod without alot of payoff, but I hate the gunwales now. Whenever I ride all day my elbows are beat to sheeeet from the outside edge not having any padding. I like the look of the kawi gunwales and the lap-over on a RN.
