Kawi factory pipe ID

So I picked up this 750sx the other day and was wondering if it came with the 'new' or 'old' style FPP. What's the difference? (other than the new one making more power)

That is the "750 SX/SXi Limited pipe" that Factory Pipe started making back in 1993 or 94 and are still making today. This pipe is a wet pipe that uses a very similar head pipe to the superjet B pipe.
The newer 750 pipe is the "750 SXi Dry Pipe".

Yes, only it had a 650 hull and no mods.

Ah, for some reason I thought there were 2 wet pipes.

Well factory pipe did make a mod pipe that wrapped around the front of the motor and behind the carbs to the exhaust exit tube. By doing this it bypassed the water box and was very loud. It used a 650 style manifold, the same head pipe and a different chamber. The mod pipe was really designed to be used on a highly ported race ski. The limited is the much better pipe IMO.
So yes they did make two versions of their wet pipe.

I just happened to find a pic of the above mentioned mod pipe while I was looking thru some old pics.
The aluminum tube is the part that would run behind the carbs. Pic 2 is pretty much how it would sit in the hull.

They had an update on the limited pipe, not sure when or what. Give'em a call.

They did update the original limited pipe. Gave 6 more horse and IMHO pulls better throughout.

will a sxr wetpipe fit in a sx/sxi or will the chamber fit on the sx/sxi head pipe? does anyone know this? i have a friend with a sxi and needs a pipe and i would rather put the sxr bpipe style in it over the centerbleed style chamber.
