Kawi 750 ignition problem

Two of my skis are experiencing the same problem. Both skis are running small pin 750 motors with 750 electronics. Both will only start when I let off the start button. If I just crank on them they will not start, but as soon as I let go of the start button that is when they start. They both seem to run fine after start. If I lay the plugs on the head and crank the motor over I get a bright blue spark all the time on one. They other one only sparks when I let off the start button. But like I said neither one will start until I let off the start button. Any one run in to this before?

kinda sounds like an MSD enhancer on a SJ going bad.


try disconnecting your stop switch and see if it helps.

you can turn your idle down so you can shut it off during the test. or you can reconnect the stop wires, prime it, choke it.... whatever.

Either you have insufficient battery voltage or your stators are going out,it goes without saying to check the batteries out first.

The batteries are up. The moter spins over fine, It just won't hit until I let off the start button. Any thing I can do other than replace the stator. Maybe an extra ground wire?

You can try whatever but you will still probably end up replacing the stator.

hey hooka, i got a 750 sxi, and i mite be getting rid of a stator soon. I just bought a msd system that comes with a stator so i dont think ill need mine anymore. Although it might not be off my ski for a while.....
