just bought a 1988 kawasaki650 sx from a buddy and he said it was running fine after he took it to the shop where they only cleaned out the carb. last time i rode it, it had a very hard time reaching top speed (rpm's), or would eventually sputter out and die, carb was just cleaned and i cannot find the problem 
problem would become worse when water entered the hull, ski ran fine with the cover off though?
