650/X-2 Kawasaki x2 over heating

Hi guys I just bought a x2 the guy had it dry piped so I just took that off cause he said the pipe would over heat so I put a normal stock pipe on took for a spin and water was comming out of the pisser but the engine was steaming not and very hot after 2 min of riding any help very appreciated

Sounds like your cooing lines are incorrect or your running to lean on the carb settings

Count them as you turn them in by full rotations then start at atleast 2 turns out on the high needle. Unless its already past that. If the dry pipe was running hot then the carb wasnt jetted right to begin with

The low end was at 1/2 and top 1&1/2 I jut took it out for another test and it got hot again should the gasket be blocking of the water jackets?? Cause the one in it now doesn't

To the exhaust yes that way it fills the motor then to the pipe should come from the pupmp to the bottom of the exhaust manifold to the engine and back tot he exhaust from the top of the motor. Turn your high screw out a full turn and the low out a half.
