I am wanting a start stop switch for my X2. I have the stock one but when you remove the choke switch, there is still a little knee buster left sticking out.

I was really looking for a 440/550 or a newer 800 SXR one. I was also wanting to use one of those underneath bilge pump switches.

So which is my best bet? I am needing black in color. I was under the assumption that the 440/550 ones didn't have the start interlock on them.

Fill me in.

I don't know what x2 had stock but the 650 sx had that funky start stop switch that had the swtiches one on top of each other compared to practically all other kawasaki start/stop switch that have the red and green buttons side by side. The older 440/550 style didn't have the lanyard, but the later model 750 and 800 sxr have the lanyard style with ren and green side by side.

I have a grey 750 start stop switch with lanyard for sale if you are interested.

Yeah I have a 650 SX switch as well. The X2 and 650 SX switches are the same. Only difference is the X2 has a metal post that sticks out of the bottom where a choke lever mounts to. When you remove the choke on the ski, there is still that post that will rip a hole in your leg.

I was mainly looking for a side by side switch. I need a black one though. I know the 800 is black. The 750's were grey I believe on most models. I am not too worried about wire color or length. I plan on splicing my wires anyways. I want to add some of those water proof connections on my ski. My plan with the connectors is to be able to remove my engine without having to disect the electrical box. I also plan on putting a quick connect coupler on teh battery wires. MSD sells a connector I am goign to buy.

I need a side by side switch because I plan on using one of those under switch bilge pump switches. I rememer some older side by side switches that didn't have the little lever that prevents the start button from being pushed.

Anybody know which year would be best for me? I hate to go to the dealership and give them 100 plus bucks for a switch......

Thanks WAB. I think I want a 750/800 for the lanyard as well. I don't get hassled much from the man on the river but i have heard of people on the net getting hassled. What I mean is they get hassled because of not having a lanyard. So I don't want to add one to my ski so that the DNR will give me grief. A zip tie always works.....

Well if you decide against black I have the grey one with lanyard, but if you don't like using a lanyard just put a zip tie under the button where you would normally place the lanyard.

you do notr need a lanyard by law. you ski did not come with one, originally.

jsut turn your idle down so the ski kills when you let off of the throttle.

Will do guys! I am still debating all of this. I just got my ski legal yesterday. I am putting a battry on charge before summer school/work so I may ride when I come home tonight. I need some hydro turf because this thing doesn't have any mats on it. Last time I rode my old X2 with no mats it was a lot slippery then I had intended. I have a big I want list.....
