300/440/550 Kawasaki JETMATE .. ??????

What complications as far as engine swaps go thats a pretty simple one for sure.

yup. no problems in both of my 750 mate swaps. just bolt in and go.

one thing is the electric box. it doesnt bolt up exactly the same. you have to turn it on a 45 degree angle and use 2 bolts and 2 zip ties to hold it in place. you need to lose the unnecessary 2nd tier that supports the oil tank, though (we ARE premixing, right?).
oh yeah, the other thing is the throttle cable.... if you use the stock bracet that bolts to the front of the cylinder (dual keihins), youll have to elongate the holes, that mate w/ the cylinder, to make the cable go a little closer to the carb. otherwise, the cable will always be pulling the butterfly open some.

depending on condition, they can be $400~$4000.

also, this isnt a couch. its far more practical than a couch. not as fast, but way more fun.

DOH! i thought we were still talking about the jetmate. never pay $4000 for a Super Chicken, regardless of condish (unless its mine).

and yeah, its a couch.... but better.

My jetmate is still awaitingthe crankrebuild .. and its starting to get full of "other" jetski parts ,, when I get the crank back it should just be a few hours to put the engine together and a few more to drop the engine in .. then who knows how long to work out any problems that may arise ..

how do plan on storing your jetmate?

storing the jetmate ? yea that is a concern .. knowing that the damnthing is like a bathtub and could fill up with water over the top of the engine .. if thats what you mean .. well planning on just tarping it real well .. or maybe getting a custom top made .. just want to see if it runs well and is worth teh $ to put into the recovering of the seats and then a cover ..

I have a 1992 jet mate that I bought a couple years ago and have not been able to find anyone that knows anything about these things. I bought it with a blown motor, so I bought a newly rebuilt motor to drop in it from a stand up jet ski. I couldn't figure out how to hook up the new wiring with the old, so I took to the dealer and they couldn't figure it out either. They spent so much damn time on that thing and they came up with nothing except a fat bill. I guess their final analysis was that the brain box on the jet mate wasn't compatiable with the new motor. They said that they could rebuild the old jet mate motor for 1400!!!!! So I laughed at them and took my jet mate home. There has to be someone creative enough out there to be able to figure this out because I nor the dealer can figure it out. My jet mate is northern michigan and I am in chicago now, but I can meet up with someone if you think you can solve my problem. thanks

im putting on of those automatic rule pumps on that comes on momentarily every 2.5 minutes. battery drain wont be a concern since i always have them on battery tenders.

i had a float switch in there but it a took a dump after getting submerged in fuel. oops.

was your old engine the original?

is your new engine a 650? 750?

what kind of standup did it come from? why not use the elctrics from that standup?

if you could post pics of what you have and provide additional details, im sure we could walk you through it.

most of the stuff from kawi's different models can be frankensteined to work together if you know what youre doing.

both the original and the new engine are the 650. to be quite honest I don't know what year the stand up jet ski was that the motor came out of. oh, and I really have no clue what I'm doing. I swapped everything that I could do but when it comes to electrical I'm screwed. That's exactly what I want, is someone to be more creative than me and the dealer and frankenstein this thing together. Would anyone be willing to work on this? I'll pay and try to deliver.

ah that would be a nice vacation though. I have 2000 jetta tdi (turbo diesel) that pulls it nicely and would average around 35mpg pulling it. Fuel cost wouldn't be much at all. But I know it isn't very realistic. I take it that you have worked on jet mates before and done engine swaps? The thing is that the jet mate is located in northern michigan and I live in chicago now, so I can't really take any pictures. I think all it needs is the electrical hooked up right and the timing done, I'm not sure though. At this point I would have no problem driving down to florida if I had to. It's been sitting for 2 years now and I would like to use atleast once or twice this summer ya know?
