It's been a while since I've posted here aye.
The first bunch of pictures are also hosted here: http://imgur.com/a/90kYh just incase.
Alrighty, this is just a good old fashioned build thread. Basically, we (my Dad and I) are taking the motor, electrics, and pump, from this (best picture I have at the moment):

and put it into the hull below. The main reason for a new hull was the old pole. It was great, but it was someones diy project, it needed more welding and less tack welds, the piece that held the turn plate could be wobbled a lot and felt super sketch riding on your knees when you were resting. Super sketch. Also the underside of the donor hull was banged to

. Pics later on.

So this is the hull on the day we bought it. We estimated that the pole is worth more than the hull, as its really really good. If anyone has a make or brand of this pole (additonal pictures coming soon of it) and could tell us who makes it that would be sick. It's not UMI or Rickter, and doesn't appear to have any brand names on it. Anyway, it was a pretty good deal. It has had tubbies, but have been removed and there are still some covered holes in the engine bay, but none on the exterior. It has some mad footwells and the hood has been lightened aswell, and the inspection port covered.
After giving it a wash we let it dry for a week and then painted the engine bay with some neat stuff.

Engine bay

The engine bay was originally an atrocious metallic gray colour and the paint was peeling everywhere. From memory, this is the crap that is sprayed in the wheel wells of cars. It provides a nice bumpy texture.
A few weeks later we dragged it into the shop for further work.

Chillin on the trolley. The paint job on this ski is pretty good.

We used some paint and tools to fleck paint into the engine bay. It's pretty sweet but I'm not a big fan of the big splotches of paint. Luckily the engine will cover most of them. The left side is much nicer than the right.

Oh lord jesus, the underside of the hood is just right. I love it. It was all clear coated afterwards, it took almost two rattle cans to coat it all.
Onto the donor hull.

This is the DH engine bay. The waterbox has a small hole or leak in it apparently. The steering cable was run under it (apparently its not supposed to) and part of the sheath had been melted from the waterbox being so hot. Does anyone know if its normal for SXI's to run hot? When the DH was running the exhaust water was always very hot, the paint had been flaked off from where the pisser was. Anyway, the stuff on the battery terminals is not corrosion, its a grease that we put on a lot of bolts so that they are protected and easier to remove in the future. I went a little overboard on the battery terminals though.
