Hey Crab have you ever heard of a kamakazi hood mod? Some guy told me that if you have that then you don't need a bilge pump? Sounded odd to me but I am clueless about a lot of stuff so. . . .

No way, if you like to go under water as much as I do, pumps are an absolute must. I am also installing a scupper over the winter, can't wait for the pump when doing back to back tricks.

I'd like 150 for the pipe, but you'll have to get different bolts to mount it. if you want to, you could try it out, and we could modify your stock exhuast so you could choose between the two, it's not hard if you can weld stainless & aluminum (i can)

Suva sounds like a decent price to me. If you need or want the money asap then go ahead and sell it to someone else as I just spent all the money I have to play with on the ski so it may be a month or so before I can scrape together the cash. Sounds like a great winter project however. BTW suva where do you ride normally? I'm normally at Boyer or Wawai (sp?) We'll be at Wawai this Saturday.

Ok last question for now. Is it worth it to put on a new intake grate or ride plate? I was thinking that I could get them fairly cheap and that they would be a pretty easy mod to do. I know that my old X2 did not hook up very well in choppy water. I assume that an aftermarket grate would help with that.

Whoa, cut the stock ride plate with a large D in the back. It lets the back of the boat sit lower in the water and helps loosen it up for turning. The hookup problem in not really one of the scoop grate as much as it is impeller design. A 2 bar grate works well, and the custom Skat swirl is the absolute best impeller I have used in my ski, bar none. The top loader grates will pick up more water, but will also scrub off a lot of speed and act like a brake. Save your coin for the 12/17 swirl, its worth the extra cash. You will need a pipe, 85mm nozzle, and pump cone to run it, it shoves a lot of water through the pump.

Ok here is the list of mods that I plan on doing and the order that I plan to do them in. If you think that I forgot something or need to rearrange the order let me know.
1. Bilge pump asap
2. Switch to premix
3. Westcoast pipe from Suva
4. Port it
5. Milled heads
6. New steering
7. Modify Ride plate
8. Skat swirl impellar 85mm nozzle, and pump cone
Any thoughts?

How large of a "D" are we talking about? You don't happen to have any pictures of this mod do you? Thanks for all the help. I can't wait to get onto my ski and rip it up this weekend. 40 hrs and counting. . . then let er rip.

Thanks for the pics that will help a lot. I'll probably do that this week maybe next. I'll get some pics posted of the X2 as soon as I pick it up and hopefully some pics of it being put to good use on Sat. We'll have to get together and ride sometime next summer crab, maybe some surf if I'm ready.
