Well I just got a 1993 X2:woot: and I am going to go to pick it up on Friday. I have a couple of questions for you guys. First of all the ski is comletely stock except for a custom (I believe west coast) ride plate. I would like to switch this to a pre mix ski asap. How hard is this to do? Secondly what are some simple mods that you would recommend to do over the winter? A new iimpellar? pipe? or anything else? I am kinda on a budget but I am willing to spend some money if it will greatly improve my performance. Oh and I'm looking mainly at this as a freestyle ski, I have no plans to race it.

I can port it for you. :Banane01:

A pipe would be the best idea.
As for the premix, I believe you will need a blockoff plate for the oilpump, and eliminate the tank - that should be it, though an actual X-2 owner should probably chime in.

I bot an X2 last winter and it ROCKS!!! mine is also a 93 and completely stock except for solas impellar and pjs rideplate and scoop grate.. I added, a head 175psi and a coffmans exhaust. the head made an improvment on bottom end, and the pipe made a HUGE differnce all around. this winter im going to investigate how hard it would be to port it and get a bigger carb..

all you need to is get the oil injections blockoff kit and its pretty simple to do. although the old stud bolts for the oil pump took i while to get out with a vice grip.

Matt, how do i port this sucker??

yeah thanks. Matt I think that I may have you help me port the "SECOND" engine that comes with the ski, yeah that's right two 650s come with it. The second one needs a little work but that will give me something to do in the winter while the rivers are cold and the ground covered in snow.

I'll need to look at it. I understand that stock porting on a Kawasaki cyl is better than your standard Yami 701 cyl.
But, improvements are to be had, of that I am sure. I.E., widen the exhaust, clean transfers, widen them a bit, improve flow on the bottom, etc.

I might make a thread when I do it.

Is it that one off craigslist? It looked super clean. I've got a westcoast pipe i'm looking to sell too, i'd even deliver it to colfax for you. Or if you don't want to spend any money on it, I could modify your stock pipe too...

How much for the west coast pipe? I do not have much 'blow' money right now since I bout the ski. It is the ski from Seattle craigslist. The ski sounds very clean the guy is a blaster nut, he bought the ski for his wife but she has chosen to go down the dark side. . . oh well her loss is my gain:biggthumpup:
