Just picked up a 1993 SN superjet...

After 5 years on my 550sx, I feel like a real standup guy now. Just drove to Detroit (from Cleveland) to pick up my brand shiny new superjet! Actually, it's not shiny at all, and far from new...but the price was right. I paid $600 for it. Motor is in perfect shape, compression is dead on. There is no spark, but after some testing, it looks like it's the coil pack, I have a replacement on the way. I'm sure I'll eventually swap in a 701, but this ski fit the budget.

The hull? Yeah... well, it's in pretty bad shape. No actual damage, just needs a new paint job, turf, and a few trim pieces here and there. So far, my list includes:
Turf
handpole pad
Paint (going the rustoleum/roller route)
The little plate on top of the hood that you pick it up with
The rubber base the handpole rests on
Hole grommets (front and back)
Lots and lots of bleach, purple power, oven cleaner, and any other solvent I can get my meat hooks on.

I can't , for the life of me, figure out why my bow looks different than almost every other SN superjet I've seen. It doesn't have that little gas cap cover.

your missing the plastic nose cover. No problem for performance but looks wise its nice to have. Someone sells an aftermarket kit on here I believe. The OEM ones are hard to find as they brake frequently and easily.

Redacted. I see what you're saying and second it.

My '91 is on with screws. I think 2.

Riveting won't do much more then bolts, IMO. Throwing some foam on the underside would do more good, I bet.

I had a trailer left from my 550, so I didn't pick it up. Plus harbor freight trailers can be had for about $150 anyway =)

So far I'm pretty happy with it. I planned to repaint/returf whatever I got anyway, so I think I came out ahead. I see power coming to the coil pack as I turn the motor over, just no spark at all. I didn't check the resistance yet on the coil pack (I will tonight) but I am certain that is the problem. I am picking up a spare from my buddy after work.
