I was looking around for a new fullface and ran across someone selling these on ebay. Its a Vigor Vamoose II Bike helmet. I really had not heard of anybody using them on skis but it got good feedback from the bikers. Its all closed cell foam eccept around the bottom of the ear which looks like it might remove. It also has a quick release ,tons of venting and is super light:biggthumpup:. Best part was it was $15.50 plus shipping. I havn't rode with it but looks like its gonna work real good.

I have used a Vigor downhill MTB helmet for the last few years. Payed about $10-$15 or so + shipping.
Works great, not too heavy with water, and best part on mine is the plastic chin clips. Not the crappy metal pieces that start rusting right away on those $60 helmets.

Used it for the first time today. Really light and drained really well. Seams like a awsome helmet. I also found out the liner does come out so I can wash it:biggthumpup:

I would be scared to protect my brain with a $15 helmet you get what you pay for. A bike cycle weighs what maybe 60 LBS compared to a ski that weights 250-300 LBS. IMO.

At least he will be using one. I have yet to see someone using a helmet where I live. I put mine on only when wave jumping and people look at me like Im from another planet.

This is a $129 dollar helmet if you do a search on google. Almost all the helmets everybody is using are bike helmets. The 661, bell bellistic and so forth are all bike helmets. The ski is also not my biggest concern as is my eardrums

price doesn't nessesarily reflect quality or make it the "best".
If that was the case, Wouldn't the "best" ski made be a Ultra 250????

As far as freeriding goes..
All you need is a simple plastic liner w/ some foam. We are not going fast, we are not hitting dirt/concrete, we are just trying to protect our ears from being blown out and our noggin from getting boodied up. I think the lowest quality helmet you could possible use would be just fine for what we do... IMO Mountain Bikers take WAY harder hits than we ever will

My $40.00 Walmart helment saved me BIG TIME once. My 1st off a wave attempt at a Marriot and head to boat colision. Bruised my head through the helmet, cant imagine what it would have done w/o a helmet.
