Just another Blaster build thread!

Location

Just bought myself a blaster finally! Waiting for its arrival but I'd like to know y'alls suggestions based on what I have already and what should be next in regards to importance.

Bought with:
94 twin carb
Oil block off
Riva Red Pipe
Aftermarket Waterbox, still trying to find out what it is
Mikuni carbs (believe one or both need to be rebuilt, diaphragms more specifically)
Jet Dynamic ride plate
Intake grate (need to crawl under and see which one)
Not sure about impeller/prop
New starter
Primer instead of choke

First I'd like to get it repainted, current paint is little silly looking and quite weathered... Thinking black with green and white hydroturf.

Next I'd like to really familiarize myself with the engine and components, hull is pretty dirty, plan to pull it all out clean the hell out of the hull and then reassemble hopefully in the right order. Also clean up the wiring and cables.

The ski runs pretty good, only thing I've noticed is that when doing hard turns/180 etc it will bog down, takes a few seconds to clear up while going straight and feathering throttle. From what I've read this is a problem with the carb diaphragm. Throttle cable pulls evenly when turnt both left and right. Apx 48mph, this was tested by driving next to a boat .. so however accurate that is.

Next Upgrades:

UMI Steering or 701 steering kit
Surf plugs
D cut ride plate
ADA Heads

Things I thought were cool:
701 Transom
701 Surf wedge
Rear exhaust
Jettrim or 701 seat

Excited to join the family and get to riding/tinkering!

So far:
Riva pipe
Some type of aftermarket waterbox
Jet Dyn intake and ride plate
Blowsion bars/finger throttle/Udi grips
Umi steering (to be installed)
701 surf plugs
Amr wrap to cover goofy paint
New turf
Rebuilt carbs

Engine: 701 62/61

Checking reeds this week due to having bogging down issues in hard turns.

Need to tune high speed needle (at about 75% throttle it seems starved. Again could be reeds)

Need to check for more misc items, getting a lot of water in hull, believe plugs are being pushed open. Already found two bolts and a small socket wrench lol.

Thinking of picking up a buddies Jetmaniac 735.

Still torn between freestyle/surf or race. I ride mostly on lakes but there are a lot of wakesurfers in my area and gulf coast is only two hours away.

Hull is pretty beat up, has a patch by the water box. Would be a good candidate for a rocker kit. But thats a tad advanced for me at this moment and not sure if there's anyone reputable to do that work where I'm at in Texas.

Been awesome riding even though its not a 100% and to learning these engines and how to work on them!

The stock CDI is going to be your call when you ride your blaster. If your hitting the stock rev limiter swap that sucker out. I've been pretty happy with the gains but I still have the stock CDI in my square nose.
