Just an idea

So I had an idea for shortening a stock pole... I don't know if its ever been tried or maybe there is a way... But. if anyone has ever done concrete before you know how to tie existing concrete into each other.. drill holes and epoxy rebar in.. This is a similar concept.

Step one cut the stock pole in the middle and take out desired length.
Step two drill1/8 inch holes in both ends of the cut pole.
step 3 epoxy 1/8 inch thick by 8 inches long steel rods into the holes with epoxy and connect the pole.
step 4 wrap entire handle pole with carbon fiber...or desired material..

Therefor you get a stock pole that looks like a carbon fiber pole and is shortened for around 75 dollars in material..

Can anyone tell me if this is possible or has ever been tried i like like so comments! thanks ill get some pics up tomorrow of what i mean for those that don't get it.

What pole are we talking about here?

A stock Roundnose pole is much easier to shorten.
A stock Squarenose pole is very difficult to shorten, but most folks just stick a Roundnose pole on there.

I have helped shorten a stock SN pole before. We cut the middle section out, inserted a sheetmetal rectangular pipe, and glassed everything back up.
It was a pain in the ass.

In retrospect, fitting a Roundnose pole on a Squarenose costs a bit more, but is much easier and better looking.
