Just a little frustrating...

Started putting on my factory pipe last night, and holy cow did I have the biggest problem trying to get that dang manifold on. :smashfreakB:

I had basically resigned myself to the fact that some grinding was going to take place until I heard Bill (subseawellhead) say, "Got it." At one point three of us were going at it at the same time, so I'm still not sure how he wormed it on there. Kind of tight.

Thank you Bill, Glory and RMBC!!!

I had to grind a wrench for my blaster's manifold... then it was still too big when I did my superjet's manifold-- they prob have many different casting molds... I had to grind it down to the point where I thought it would surely break when I torqued on it... but it didnt... it was close though... worked great

Yep, b-pipe.

The problem was trying to slide onto the top two center bolts. I don't know, maybe the bolts I had had larger heads or something, but we had to get everything exactly perfectly lined up with the top center bolts out at exactly the right amount and tilt it just right.

All I really know is I had three guys who have done a lot of wrenching and have put on b-pipes before, and it was a beast. lol

i got no pics at work, or i would post one...

but yeah, the two center bolts can be a bitch... if you have them threaded in too much, it's tight as hell, not enough and you have a ton of screwing in to do with that ground wrench... there is a sweat spot. also, having the positive lead on the starter tends to get in the way... I just did mine two nights ago... on the bench... in fact, i found installing my cylinder with the girdle kit bolts still in the cases to be even worse... trying to hold the rings compressed with your hands squeezed between the bolts while guiding the cyl over the studs and lining up everything... major PITA...

I get that same sweat spot after mowing for about twenty minutes.
