Just got me the 09 SJ and spent the day running the two tanks of 40/1 through her.
Would like to say thanks to this board for all the good info as I have ordered the Worx 228 grate for the first mod.
Did have a bad thing happen today in the middle of my good size lake.
The cut off lanyard was clear when I took off but some where in the bail out it must have rapped around the hand grip and the wrist rubber thingy broke off my wrist. O crap the motor did not shut down and looks like she is heading for home!! I was starting to see her in my mind running all the way to shore and sucking up all kinds of stuff when she hit land.
Then in my mind I saw myself swimming to shore and that too was not the best thought of the day. I started to swim as fast as I could but the SJ for some unknown reason can move faster in the water than I.
Ok did not give up the fight but just had to face the fact that something bad this way comes. Then the water Gods smiled and as I looked up she was turning and heading my way. Good thing the bars were turned when the lanyard broke and I hit the water. I rode home and got a good clip in place of the wrist thingy and now have it attached to my vest.
Was I lucky or will the SJ put itself in a turn after a short while if the motor is left running?
