Thanks spider. This is my first ski and the carb was in rough shape. I’m not working today so I’m going to try to take it apart and clean it. I may end up having to order a new one and I’m considering the sbn44 just because I can find so much more information on them... as a beginner that comes in handy.

Let me know if you have more questions, I just rebuilt a js550 this winter with an sbn44 carb this winter. Has a aftermarket head and exhaust though so the jetting wouldn't be exactly the same. If you go with the sbn carb, be prepared to have to change the jetting a few times to find the right fuel mixer.

Well I just got the bn38 replacement carb in today. Some fussing with the carbs and she fired right up. I'll put her in tomorrow since it's poopty out right now so lets see how she does. I haven't even looked at the pump so lets hope its working. lol
