Jetting: Please Explain!!

Hi,

I've been riding for quite a while, but always rode stock boats. Now that I have some money I'm getting into moding...

Anyhow, when someone says they rejetted their carbs or they are "jetting" their carbs what does that mean?

it means they make em super fast like a jet. its a trade secret you have to send to special super builders to get them "jetted" properly for what brand/type powerband you have installed.

means they are changing the jets in the carburator based on modifications done to the motor.

Usually when you "mod" a ski with a pipe for instance, you get more air flow through the carbs and engine. You will need to compensate by increasing the jet sizes in your carbs so the motor does not lean out.
