Jet Ski Solutions trade secrets

How does John get parts so clean? Sand blasting? My carb and stator look unbelievable.

I have an old yamaha 650 motor I would like to tear apart and clean up, just for the experience of working on an engine (I don't plan to ever run this motor again - it will probably end up parted out on eBay). I'm not looking to expose any JSS trade secrets, but if it is simply sandblasting, I could probably find a local person to blast my corroded old engine parts.

He uses ultrasonic cleaner. It is a variable frequency cleaner that drops to I think 50 Hz. I can't remember. I priced one a few year back but couldn't justify the price. I think the one I was looking at would just hold 1 carb at a time and was around $1000.

He uses simple green as a solution so that it eats away some of the gunk and blast away the dirt.

you can get a ok one that will hold a carb at harbor freight now for $150

Not really sure if that one has variable freq capability, doesn't look like it. For best cleaning of parts that is what you're after.

John told me one of his "secrets" in using the UC is using a jar or something for really dirty stuff. That way only the jars worth of solution gets thrown out not the whole tank worth.

Some of those expensive stainless ultrasonic cleaners have built in heaters and french fry baskets.

There's some real nice ones on fleBay.

I've always wanted to purchase a larger tumbler with ceramic media for cleaning hardware.

The last time I talked to John he had media vibrator that would hold a set of engine cases almost that he wanted to sell. You should contact him.

And the prices have come down a long way from the last time I looked but I don't care what Harbor freight has to offer I have bought too much JUNK from that outfit. I like my tools to last more that one use. I don't think I have anything that I have ever bought from them. everything broke or quit working soon after using for the first time.
