decided to do some practicing with some carbon fiber to gain experience for larger more complex projects. i know this isn't the most professional workshop or tools but its a start. i am using 12k 2x2 twill. it measures .030 inches thick.
surprisingly it was considerably easier to work with than most fiberglass cloths. any constructive criticism would be appreciated.
1st i covered the plate in a tape that the resin would not stick to
2nd i brushed on a layer of resin and started laying saturated pieces of carbon
3rd i popped off the carbon and sprayed a light layer of paint to make my outline for trimming.
when i finish my layers and reinforcing i will take it into my work and mill the outside edges and drill the holes.
