His work is good quality. You will notice the hulls he does make are thicker and stronger than a regular oem yamaha hull that has been reinforced. Regardless of his slow work, its quality, and thats what you pay for!!!!!

whith which part do you disagree Matt.

"his work is quality"
or
That the hulss are thicker and stronger than a reinforced OEM?

Or

Both?

Excluding his reputable service of course as the post you replied to didnt mention those trates.

The quality part. I've elaborated on this in the past: the build quality of his composite parts is commensurate with the price. You get what you pay for.

specifics? You can't base that on a hood liner separating. As I have seen that happen with every major hood maker

Hood liners poorly glued in.
Poor liner fit.
Poor hood fit.
Poor fit consistency in nose pieces.
Heavy chop gun layup.
Cracks on nearly new hulls.
Finish and glue problems on new hulls.

Those are the things I have seen personally.

Riverrat's X-Jet bottom fell apart after 2-3 years of light use. When he got it (which was a story and a half by itself) you could flex the bottom sides with one finger.

There is no way I can say that there is no issue with His aftermarket hulls. BUT, I can say that I have seen others of HIGHER PRICING with MORE issues. I definately cannot say that in camparison with other aftermarket hulls and prices that Jeff's seem to me BETTER THAN MOST, NOT ALL but most and the price is definately BETTER for what you get (ONCE YOU ACTUALLY GET IT).

I dont know how many Wammer or Rickter or WF or stunts or BOBS or what ever brand you want to throw out there you have seen after a little abuse but I have seen MANY over the years and can say that MOST do not hold up. So far from what I see of Trinity hulls and XFT CARBON hulls they seem to hold up pretty good. Unfortunately I cannot afford one and dont really like the handling aspects of either one.

Personaly I think if you want strength and durability over ALL then use an OEM and reinforce it. But most people buying an aftermarket hull want something different, lighter and better handling aspects than a heavy OEM hull. Unfortunately this comes with either a price or a consiquence of some sort from my experiance.

As far as the hoods????????????????????? Your in a different world then I am there. I have one made lighter than normal and been riding it or my son one for 5 years and it has light stress cracks in it and still fits and functions VERY WELL. I bought it a year after I bought a NEW HIGH $$$$$$ Wammer that the liner broke out of in ONE SEASON. I have sold about 10 of Jeff's hood locally from Diablos to Razors and have had NONE break and NONE had fitting issues except for one that need a washer under a hood hook hood side. ALL have been ligter than the 2 blowsion hoods we have here local and the 2 WF hoods we have had here as well. As for the quality of finish I say the WDK and Blosion hoods are equal but the WDK is lighter AND WAY CHEAPER. If you have the cash invest in a 24/7 but if not I cant see why you would buy anything but the WDK hood.

Light, quality and CHEAP and I am NOT talking about one hood here. Just a few peeps running a hood from me and I meen just a few.

There is six whitout an issue and I can rattle off more if ya need them too. Cant agree with the hood or nose peice comments at all.
My nose pieces have held up forever too, went thru a bunch of other brands and see them busted up and off all the time.

Jeff has prolly sold more hoods in the US in the last 5 years than ALL the other hood manufacturers out there combined and prolly had less issues then any one of them.

You can bash where deserved (SERVICE) but I call BS on the bad quality as compared to most out there.

Blowsion / xft and others make some nice stuff but you better be ready to pay for it and IMO the comparison of pretty vrs price is not worth the added $$$$$$$$$$

I'm just going by what I have personally seen and/or owned and 100% of it was sub-par. Sorry.
I am not going to get into an argument over this, I know what I've personally seen and nothing you say can explain all that away. Surely that's understandable.

100% understandable. Just curious about how many you are talking about.

Fair question. The honest answer, not many.
3 hulls, 4-5 hoods and corresponding nose pieces.

Come to think of it, one of the newer hoods did not have problems (it was new).

I wonder if part of the disparity is where the hoods are used? Surf vs flatwater is a huge difference in impact force when landing on the side or upside-down.

Good point. All the defective products I've seen were used in surf.
