Been about 4 years or so, but I'm back in thanks to Captain Waterlogged! This time with not one, but TWO superjet builds. My wife and I are going to be building 2 SN SJs from the ground up. More pics to come later this week but I like our starting points. Can not wait to get started on these things!

Spent a little time working last night. Didn't do a whole lot but got the motor pulled from one of the WR3s, which had a 650 in it. That motor will be going in my wife's ski. The other two I'll pull the 701s out of and strip completely and one of those will go in my ski. Will post pics as I get around to gutting those.

Was going to wait till Friday but, can't wait. Everything to finish the hull work will be here Friday(fiberglass and such), and my sample paint color came in today! Sprayed a think single coat on one of the WR hulls to get an idea, and pictures do NOT do this color announce of justice. Can't wait to get this stuff on my SJ!! More pics to come in the next week!

Christmas came a little later than planned. Footholds should be arriving I would guess in the next week or so. Tonight begins the cutting.

Planned hull mods:
-Rocker the front
-defoam the tray and reinforce
-reshape gunwales
-install footholds
-shorten the bottom deck ~3-4"
-custom paint(not really a mod)
-RN pole conversion with shortened pole

So I've been a bit lazy when I get off work. Haven't really gotten started on the cutting just yet. Did, however get the bottom of the dray de-turfed and turf off the rails. Instead of doing the side walls of the tray I spent my time last night finishing up some garage mods. The plan tonight is to get home from work and get to work heavy on the hull. Got lots to do and not a whole lot of time.

Finally getting around to the body work. Got the rest of the turf out of the tray. I know it's not spotless yet, but it will be soon. Got the holes for the footholds cut and dry fitted the holds to make sure they fit. Also got the hull flipped and measured and marked where cuts will be made. Starting to make a little progress!

Even the wife jumped in and helped with the footholds. Got pics to prove it lol.

Got a good bit done this evening. Next step is to figure out where to cut the nose off. Once that is done, I am going to be trimming the gunwales on the back, and shortening the rear bottom deck. Also have to cut my tray out and dig out all of the wet foam . Should be an interesting time.

My parts list is steadily growing, and we got to lay the first layer of glass Sunday, as well as screw in the footholds and cut the tray. Put down a second layer of glass last night so with the heater on it maybe it will have set enough to finish the full length of the nose today.
