Is this RN SJ a Good Deal?

I am looking to buy my first Superjet, I know a good amount about them, but not what they are going for now-a-days. It is a '98 with a good amount of mods like; a B pipe, 175 compression heads, ride plate, grate, prop, full turf, some minor port work, blowsion trigger, chin pad, some other minor exterior mods. It looks pretty good for its age. It probably has over 100 hrs in usage. Would the ski still be reliable for several more years down the line? He is selling for $4000?

Good deal? If not what should I buy it for?

does it have a handpole and lowered hood/handpole bracket? I'de check the compression before you buy. if it checks out good and has even compression it should be trouble free for at least a couple seasons, maybe more depending on how much you ride it.

depends on location...around here that is too much...in ontario canada, probably about right

Maybe a good price in Sweden. Way too much in the states.

But then sellers are greedy right now since it's the start of the season (or close to). I had a friend of a friend try to sell a non-running '97 HX to the first friend for $1300. Talk about greedy.

Yep, I would say a touch high yet on price. I would think $3,000 to $3,200 would be closer to reality of what it will bring at the most.

considering new they run around 6-6500.00. the 2003 is five years newer than the 11 year old ski!!!!!!! 4500.00 for the 03 would be decent.

id prob pay 3500-4k max, but i think that the listing is possibly a scam. notice the no phone number and no pictures......just be careful, i hope it isnt tho and it works out for you.

yea with no hand pole or hood i'de say $3500 is a more realistic price to offer if the compression is perfectly even, but if it's a little off, then that's some negotiating power to try to pay 3 or less. if the compression is more than a few percent off i wouldn't risk buying it unless he goes waayy down

I was looking at the 03 in PA also. Its not a scam...he sent me pics. Still $5k was too much for me, and he originally was askin 6k lol.
I just picked up a SUPER clean 00' Saturday w/ no more then 30 hours. Looks brand new in and out. All it has done is a protec intake grate and dynamic ride plate. I paid $3000. Im glad its stock so i got a fresh canvas to mod it to my liking.
Good luck trying to find one, I felt like I was looking forever. It seems like the round noses that are legit are gone the next day. Any ski for sale for a while is either to good to be true or theyre asking way to much.

Well i dont know how far your willing to travel to get one. But I know theres a guy in western Mass who has a few. He has a 96' listed on craigslist now for $2600. Its been on there a few days it may be sold by now. It looks pretty clean and has some basic stuff done...theres also a 98 on craigslist in NJ. Looks like it got alot of stuff done and hes askin like 4K i cant rem exactly how much. I also kno of a 07' in Brooklyn that was ridden like 4 times. I think theyre askin like 5k. I was gunna go look at it and most likely buy, but the ski I just bought popped up and was virtually new and 2 grand cheaper so i went that route.

glad it wasnt a scam.....whats goin on in PA lol? there getting rid of sj's left and right up there haha..... 3guys on here including me got rn superjets in the last month....whatever sux for the sellers..
